The Graduation

"A graduation ceremony is an event where the commencement speaker tells thousands of students dressed in identical caps and gowns that "individuality" is the key to success."
- Robert Orben
On June 6, 2009, I graduated. I would rather not go too deeply into my actual graduation, mainly because of this:

I've not taken even one decent pictures that night. At that moment, I thought it would be "cool" and make "beautiful" faces to ruin one of the "most momental" events in my life. I still stand by my stubborness and claim that I would never regret it. NEVER.
As for all the plant life genitals around my neck (I'm assuming that it is only a tradition in Hawaii), they are leis, which are a wreath of flowers, candies, or money.
My sister took some photos of our commencement.
Karen said that it was pretty eerie to see a whole troop of students dressing in white marching onto the field, in which I have to agree. We looked like a platoon of wannabe faux KKKs.
Despite the "creepy" aura, horrible singing (grad song), having my cap fallen off three times , and getting nasty blisters because of the stupid leather shoes I wore (by the end, I tried really hard to not limp across the field), the graduation went perfectly. Luckily, the graduation has taken place when the sun was down.
Earlier that week, we had to practice out in the sun. Being that I don't go out much, and I am pretty white (yes, I live in Hawaii, and I am pale), having exposed to the sun for 4 straight hours, I got some nasty sunburns.

You can see that my shoulders are bright red. (I really don't take decent photos....)
To further reinforce the fact that I can't take decent photos, here is another one.

The only decent photo I took that night was before the graduation. I love that stupid horse floaty.
And there is a simple explanation as to why Bonnie writes about her graduation 3 weeks after the ceremony.
She was lazy.
